The skeleton is the part you never see but feel in every pose. Understanding it helps you choose the right doll and treat it well.
What a skeleton does
A quality articulated steel skeleton lets the limbs, shoulders, and hips move and hold natural positions. Better skeletons offer a wider range of motion and smoother, more stable joints.
Standing feet
Standard dolls cannot stand unsupported. The standing-feet option adds bolts in the soles so the doll can stand on its own for display or photography. If standing matters to you, choose this at purchase — it is difficult to add later.
Posing without damaging the skin
Move joints gently and avoid forcing them past their natural range. Do not leave your doll in an extreme pose for long periods, as constant tension can stress the skin around joints. Returning it to a relaxed position for storage protects the material.
